Aerodynamics & Flight Mechanics Engineer – Aircraft & UAV
Development
We are looking for an Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics Engineer to join an
experienced, dynamic engineering team developing new fixed-wing aircraft and UAV
developments. You will contribute directly to aerodynamic design, performance
analysis, and flight mechanics across the full development lifecycle—from
concept studies to flight testing.
This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a
high level of responsibility for delivering technically sound results.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform aerodynamic analyses for aircraft and UAV configurations
- Develop and assess performance, stability, and control models
- Support concept design, trade studies, and configuration optimization
- Prepare and maintain aerodynamic and flight mechanics documentation
- Contribute to load cases, envelopes, and handling qualities analysis
- Support simulation models for flight dynamics and performance
- Assist in preparation and evaluation of ground and flight test results
- Collaborate closely with structures, systems, and flight test engineers
- Ensure accuracy, traceability, and technical consistency of analyses
- Take ownership of assigned work packages and bring them to completion
Required Qualifications
- MSc or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in aerodynamics and/or flight mechanics for aircraft
or UAVs
- Solid understanding of:
- Aerodynamics (low-speed and high-speed)
- Aircraft performance
- Stability and control
- Flight mechanics fundamentals
- Ability to work with engineering data, assumptions, and margins
- Strong attention to detail and analytical rigour
- Structured, responsible approach to completing tasks
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
Nice to Have
- Experience with CFD tools (e.g. ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+)
- Experience with MATLAB / Python for analysis and simulation
- Familiarity with CS-23 / Part 23, UAV or military standards
- Experience supporting flight test planning or data analysis
- Background in conceptual aircraft design or preliminary sizing
